So Ive got a technical question. I have a new 4.6l v8 in my 2000 mustang, things ran great for the first 3000 miles. since then ive been getting intermittent P0190 codes. It took some time, but tracked it down to an internal crack in the intake manifold. I have since replace it, and I thought things were better, but I am still getting the code. Now yesterday it popped a P0420. I know thep0420 is the catalytic system( the o2 sensors were not replaced with the engine). I am ok with replacing the o2 sensors, and even have plans to replace the entire exhaust systems and cats. My question is is it possible that the p0190 code is being thrown because of the catalytic system issues? From the p0190 perspective, I am running bbk high flow fuel rails, have replaced the engine bay wiring harness, replaced the frps, a new OE fuel pump was put in with the engine, the fuel tank was cleaned out(the car sat for several years before the new engine was put in). I am looking at putting in a better fuel pump and replacing the tank to rule out contaminants in the tank. My engine guy has been great but just cant seem to figure out what is going on and I cant find anyone who specializes in Mustangs/Fords in this area. I just want to get this issue resolved once and for all. Thanks for any help you guys can provide.
