So Ive learned to take a day to digest when it comes to all things burgundy & gold. The bottom line, Redskins Nation, is we got a blowout win and it has been AGES since we could celebrate that fact. It was beautiful to see a defensive performance we havent seen in at least five years and mistake free football from our offense and special teams. We know we have the talent to put 30 or 40 on the board, so I wasnt as surprised with that aspect of it no matter who is playing QB. He is also not likely out for the year. That was premature. My analysis is that RG3 has proved that he can be a winning NFL QB in the league, but not enough that he could come all the way back from injury to be the same guy. He had a solid game last week and just when people were complaining about his average pass per play he was 2/3 for 38 yards before he had a freak injury again. He has a track body so he looks awkward sometimes. Life is about opportunity and for now he missed this one to solidify his come back and its Kirks time now. Even when Griff gets healthy AND if Cousins plays well he isnt obviously granted his job back in the same way that just because Cousins plays exceptionally well at times doesnt mean he is the best QB for our team. Time well tell. I look at this as a blessing because we will find out what Kirk is made of. His skill set, AT THIS POINT, seem to gel more readily with our schemes, but that is because he reads the defense and goes through his progression better. However, we already knew that just like we knew Rob has the bigger arm and better ability to improvise when things dont go as planned. That was the analysis of them coming out of MSU and Baylor respectively. The question is who can take us to the title not just who is better suited for us now?! Conscious Skins fans that are loyal to team, not player, will tell you we dont know. We dont know what we have, long term, in either of these guys, but we do feel we have two starting QBs. What each guy can and cant do is about game to game stuff. We Skins fans are invested in more than the individual box score. Also Ima defend some misguided Skins fans that did think and still probly do think RG3 is our guy after one season. Other fan bases always pretend like they wouldnt crown a guy with that kind of season especially with the loyalty and disappointment we have faced for two decades. It wasnt just that he looked incredibly poised, accurate, and mistake free...the guy also made great decisions and led us, offensively, to an incredible winning streak sweeping the Cowgirls, including the final game for all the marbles. As a fan you get why he got so much love and you laugh at those that poke fun as if they wouldnt have gotten caught up in the nostalgia. FUNK OUTTA HERE! Its comical. Our play (offensively and on special teams) against the Texans and Jags were polar opposites because of we didnt turn the ball over, our offensive line played much better, and special teams decided to lock down some blocking issues. Our defense turned it up several notches after a very good first game. It aint so easy as this QB did this and this QB did that.
