So Ive recently started binge-watching seaons 1 of Fargo - a FX TV series based in the same era/environment as the Coen Brothers classic movie. The series is similar to Breaking Bad in that the cinematography is not rushed, and neither is the story telling - and things change quickly. Characters and plots develop and get interwoven, and there are seemingly trivial details that come into play a few episodes later. There are bad guys and worse guys, and you involuntarily find yourself rooting for the former, and then catching yourself because they are also evil. Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freemen are excellent, as is the mostly Minnesota nice supporting cast. Theres also a Game of Thrones similarity in that you cant depend on a person you think is a key character not getting killed off - it keeps the series unpredictable. And like GoT, makes me almost angry when it happens, but draws me back in for more. fxnetworks/fargo/about
