So Ive seen this video floating around the whatsappasphere. Its a Zali dude kicking out 2 Chabad guys from a shul they wanted to daaven (pray) in. Hes yelling Lubavitch Tuma... (impure). I have a few thoughts on this... 1. If you loop the guy yelling, it could make a great dance song. Ill get Avicii on the case. 2. While an extreme example, this is a great illustration that sometimes we can get so caught up in doing the right thing according to the book that we lose sight of the most important things. Without doubt, Gd would have preferred this yelling-guy shave his beard and never go to shul than to shame others in public. Where is the love? That is the foundation of Judaism. 3. In every community there are the crazy people. I dont at all take this guys reaction as representing an entire sect. This video is very short and Ill give the benefit of the doubt that others from the shul went over to the two guys that got bounced to apologize for their bouncer and invite them back in. At the same trying to stop this ejector. It does bother me that they dont have a knee-jerk reaction to stop this guy. Folks are just wondering around not knowing how to respond. 4. We should try to teach tolerance and respect for others, to our children. I cant count how many times kids Litfish kids came over to me asking when Moshiach is coming, is the Rebbe moshiach and singing Yechi while I passed by them - all in a mocking disrespectful manner. Their parents are guilty for that. Respect for others is taught by parents. 5. And keeping with the theme of MLK day: I have a dream for a day when we all focus on what unites us and laugh at our differences - with love. What are your thoughts?
