So Jade and I spent 4 days volunteering as counselors for Camp I AM. Camp I AM is a 4 day summer camp for kids on the Autism spectrum. I absolutely love making kids smile and to be a part of this camp and have my daughter Jade helping by my side was an amazing experience. I have tried so very hard to expose jade to the beautiful and simple things in life that bring a sense of purpose to life for both herself and others. I could not be more proud of the young woman Jade is becoming! She is an completely beautiful both inside and out. I have battled with my own adhd and social anxieties my entire life. Sometimes I feel like my own life is spiraling out of control but helping others get some enjoyment out of life always helps me gain perspective on my own mental battles. It was a great weekend full of learning and overcoming for both the kids at camp and myself. If I could give one bit of advice about obtaining true happiness I would say to help make others lives better and yours will become better as well. True happiness comes from giving of yourself!!!
