So Joe Girardi is pissed at Sox fans for cheering ARod getting plunked because he thinks it sets a bad example for the kids. Bullshit, Joe. First of all, if you were truly worried about setting a good example for children ARod would be a bat boy for some developmental league team in the Phillipines. Your entire organization is full of cheaters, and ARod is the biggest one. Even before his second bust for PEDs he was known for leaning into pitches and trying to surreptitiously knock the ball out of the gloves of defenders. Finally, I think that kids do emulate behaviors like this. If my son is a pitcher and he is facing a batter twice convicted of cheating I will tell him to go ahead and plunk the kid. If I were a major league pitcher I would make it well known that every time I face Alex Rodriguez I will try to end his career by throwing at his head. I am prepared to deal with consequences of that action, unlike ARod, Joe Girardi or anyone else in the Yankees organization.
