So Julian has had the same set of implants for 4 years. There is a pretty significant upgrade available now through Cochlear which comes with a 5 year warranty! With his current devices I spend $2k a year just for the extended warranties and battery replacements. Im submitting through insurance at this time but the out of pocket is still going to be substantial. Im thinking of ideas such as a garage sale maybe a 5k, or even a fundme page to help raise money to go towards getting them for him. Ive never done anything like this and honestly it makes me uncomfortable but at the same time there isnt anything I wouldnt do to help my children.
