So KS decides to have a study group to help set the direction of public school in KS, that all sounds good. Until the first people appointed to the group are anti-public school and have been vocal about not funding public schools. The Speaker of the House, Merrick appointed Dave Trabert of Kansas Policy Institute and Mike ONeal, president/CEO of KS Chamber of Commerce. As the LJW article states Neither has any professional expertise in K-12 education. Both are registered lobbyists representing groups that have been highly critical of the states public education system. Time to speak out against these appointments!
