So Ken tagged me to do a Top 10 games that are important to me list, so I guess... yeah, off I go in no particular order, except for the top 3. Ken, you want an essay, buckle up buddy ;D Portal 2 - This game was a huge release, I loved the way some of the puzzles got me thinking, and was one of the only times Ive actually found a script humorous, to the point Id remember quotes years down the line. Resident Evil 2 - Ok, Ive never beaten this game, because as a chile I was exposed to this game, and scared stiff. Why is it important? It set me on a path where I am to this day still scared of this game, and cant really play horror games, even though I love all things horror, thats how influential this game was on me. BlazBlue - Its BlazBlue, this was my fighting game time sink. I placed 2nd in an international tournament, won local tournaments, developed rivalries, and more importantly, developed friendships thanks to this game. League of Legends - With a fun system, the introduction to this game was easy, having a ton of friends to play with, and still that list is growing. The impact that this game has had is near obscene. This game gave me a dream of working for the Company that makes it. It gave me athletes to idolize, it made me want to better develop myself as a gamer, and as a person, by learning to ignore toxic people. Final Fantasy 8 - Or series, but Im picking 8 because it was my first one, and during my teen years, I had no real friends. I was a loner, the epitome of the main character. But in Squalls story, he develops, meets people, and everything works out OK in the end. This fictional character, who I could relate to, gave me dreams of a better future for myself. Streets of Rage - Walk right punch people dance to funky music. Even 21 years later, this game is still something I listen to, watch, sit down and play. Only one other SEGA game has withstood the test of time for me. Zero Escape (999 / Virtues Last Reward) - A story for the ages that may never be wrapped up. Combining game play and story masterfully, the amount of false accusations and second guessing, combined with how gripping it is, made me want to keep playing all night. Sonic The Hedgehog - My Hero. My all time favorite mascot, anyone who knows me knows I idolize Sonic, ever since I first heard of him as a baby. Persona 4 - I decided on 4 over 3 because 4, in my opinion, had a cast I could care deeply for, amazing soundtrack, and gave me that sense of I dont want this game to end that I have never felt in any other video game. A masterclass of an RPG, a gripping story, great gameplay, and a universe like nothing else of its genre, 2 years down the line, it had such a positive impact on my taste, I still idolize anything Persona 4. My #1 goes to... Katawa Shoujo - Compelling. Gripping. Rage Inducing. Tear Inducing. This game is a real masterpiece, and one that every person should experience. This game WILL change your life for the better, and anyone who has played it can back me up on that. I cant describe why exactly its important, but if you do take the time to experience this game, you will understand why. Lorna, Declan, Andy, Sean. Youre up!
