So King, I have been reading through the LNPs policy on job - TopicsExpress

So King, I have been reading through the LNPs policy on job creation, the JOBS OF TOMORROW plan, which is being hawked around by LNP candidates as some sort of panacea for the appalling situation regarding youth unemployment, which has risen dramatically under the Newman Government. Let me say that anything directed at helping youth obtain employment is a good move. HOWEVER, your plan offers employers, private employers $6,000 for each additional apprentice, and a one off payment of $2,500 for taking on a junior cadet. Well, these types of schemes have been done before, over and over in fact. Sure, many employers will take advantage of having wages subsidised...for a short period of time. However, history reveals that once the money runs out, the young person is back again on the dole queue. In other words, these schemes do not, for the most part, provide full time, secure employment for the young. At best, they are nothing but window dressing, a futile action designed to lull the voters into believing that something is being done, when in fact little is being done.
