So.......... Last Sunday my wife and I checked into the Raddison Hotel in Melbourne Beach, FL. When we arrived, the desk clerk had to check us in manually because the system was down. (This is fine -- I understand computers can go down.) The next morning, we go to have breakfast at the hotel restaurant and I try to pay with my credit card -- no go. They can not process credit cards because the computers are STILL down. At time for check out, they can not close out our bill and give is a receipt because -- you guessed it -- the computers are STILL DOWN. They tell us that they will email us a copy of the receipt. On WEDNESDAY, Joyce calls and they still can not close out the bill and send a receipt because the systems are STILL down...huh? (A hotel with systems totally down for 3 or 4 days --- oh no way!!!) They tell Joyce that it will be 24 more hours. On Friday we STILL had not heard anything, so I called the hotel again...I get the EXACT SAME response as Joyce got on Wednesday, except this time I was told that if I did not have a receipt in my email by Monday Morning, to call back and that person would manually process it for me while I was on the phone. Now we get to Monday. I give it until Monday afternoon and call the same person I spoke to on Friday. He acts like he had never spoken to me and passes the blame off to someone else who is not at work yet, but will be in later. At this point, I am pretty ticked, so I call the Corporate Offices for Raddison. Ha Ha Ha -- I was thinking I might get further -- ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The customer service rep apologized and said that she was not aware of a problem, but would call the hotel. When she came back on the line, she told me that the hotel did not have any record that I had checked OUT of my room at the hotel -- HUH? I have called the hotel four times this week ... and they still think I am there....WOWOW!!!! She did not seem to care that one of their hotels had a guest who had a bad experience. She simply told me that the Night Auditor was having to rebuild the computer and it SHOULD be up by the next day -- Hmmmm, where have I heard this line before. She also told me that the Night Auditor would call me when he got in. Well, lets see, it is Tuesday Morning, there is not call from the Night Auditor at the Raddison, so I decide to call the hotel before I leave for work at 6:30am. Oh, we are sorry Mr. Roberts, the night auditor works days and is not in yet. What....Uhm.....well....gee okay. I figured that a NIGHT auditor probably worked at NIGHT. But who am I to think? So I finally have a copy of my receipt. They claim the systems are still down but they were able to get a manual receipt to email to me. I am very disappointed in the Raddison. I figured them to be a nicer hotel -- oh and to add to the whole thing, the service while we were there was not Grade A at all!! Unless they can work a miracle to make me happy, I will NEVER stay at a Raddison again.
