So.. Libby is STILL at the transmission shop. I hoped to get her out today so I can spend the weekend camping with other Vanagon owners but no go. After I overnighted a $5 washer from Tennessee for $70 so theyd have all of the parts they needed today to complete the build I find out they broke the long bolt that mounts the starter. Just my f@cking luck. So pissed off. A replacement cant be found locally. Im driving to the Austin campout tomorrow NOT IN MY VAN to hang out and to pick this bolt up from a friend that has an extra. Ill drop the bolt off Monday at the shop so hopefully they can get the van done. Libby has been there for 3 weeks and it seems like something is always delaying the job. Not a happy camper. Pun intended. Vanagon owners on the left Coast... Please dont ever complain about prices at your Vanagon shops. We have zero Vanagon shops and man Id love to have what you guys have access to.
