So... Like the nerd that I am and always have been, Im watching PBS. This particular show is about the NRA. And then I remembered; when I was 8 maybe 9 years old, I used to go to summer camp at the YMCAs Camp Flaming Arrow in Hunt, TX around 1972? where I took a rifle shooting class offered by the NRA, where I got the one and only highest award out of that class... EXPERT! And I couldnt agree more with the belate(d) and Great Charlton Heston; YOU CAN PRY MY GUN FROM MY COLD DEAD FINGERS! I try not to share too much personal info about myself here on fb but, a few years ago I was arrested for being in possession of my GRANDFATHERS antique 1903 US Army Springfield 30.6 rifle because I was a felon, who had been convicted of a DWI, and who had and to this date has never ever had a violent past nor any type of violent criminal record. And yet, this past summer some kook high on meth ran amuk US in thIs 1 horse town with a GUN and was on the loose, his whereabouts unknown. And yet, I was not legally allowed to protect myself, my house or my family with any kind of firearm. That kook, broke into an elderly couples house and beat up an 82 year old woman and then tied up her 84 year old husband before stealing their brand new 2014 Jeep. And yet.... because of FEDERAL LAW, I am NOT allowed to own nor posses a gun/firearm until 2019 and thats only IF I never get arrested again in this period of time. I will only say this only 1 more time, hopefully; IF America aka; the USA does NOT pull its head out of its ass by the next election in 2016, I am packing it up and moving me and my family back to where my ancestors came from in Germany!
