So Luke Skywalker was in my neighborhood tonight! And I got to meet him briefly. The one time in my life where it pays to know Mark Walters! ;) I dropped Marks name and instead of landing like a lead balloon, Mark Hamill lit up and talked to me and when his wife walked over, he said, This is a friend of Mark Walters. He also said, I like your shirt. And yes, it was a STAR WARS shirt. I Ricklesd Walters about this via text saying that Hamill and his wife had no idea who he was. Walters went into a depression and ate Baskin Robbins down to 5 flavors before I told him the truth. Lewis Skolnick was also there. I got to talk to him briefly as well - I met Robert Carradine several years ago when I got him to appear at the New Bev. He and Kelly Ward also liked my shirt. Its a WELCOME TO TATOOINE shirt. Ward said, I heard someone who lives there is coming tonight! There were there to do a Q&A for the documentary, A FULLER LIFE, in which they appear. Its about the life of Samuel Fuller, who was a reporter, World War II veteran and an acclaimed filmmaker. Its a very good doc made by his daughter who was also there. Very entertaining Q&A with a bunch of stories about working on THE BIG RED ONE. There are more Q&As at the Laemmle NoHo 7 this week.
