So... Man United prepared to break bank for Ronaldo or Bale Manchester United are keen to show the world that there is life after Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford as the Premier League Champions get ready to smash the world transfer record with a move for Cristiano Ronaldo or Gareth Bale, according to the Sun. Ronaldo’s public declaration that talks of his contract renewal are false pushed him a step closer to a return to United with the club willing to spend over £80million on the Portuguese. If Ronaldo decides to extend his stay in Madrid, United will then make a world record move for Bale, who is also an £85millon target for Real and PSG. United are hoping that Bale’s transfer to Real could trigger Ronaldo’s return to Manchester which will be a major statement of intent for new manager David Moyes. United’s current transfer record stands at £30.75million, which they spent on Dimitar Berbatov in 2007.
