So, Mike and I are watching Dragnet, Joe Friday and Bill Gannon are looking for the culprit that stole a statue of Baby Jesus from a nativity scene at a church. It is Christmas Eve, they go to the church to tell the priest that they probably wont be able to solve the crime until after Christmas. A little boy (about 6 years old) comes rattling up the aisle pulling a wagon. In the wagon is the statue. He stops at the altar and blesses himself. The boy only speaks Spanish so they have the priest ask him where he found the statue. The little boy says that he didnt find it, he took it. They ask him why? He says that he has been praying for a red wagon for Christmas every year and this year he prayed to the Baby Jesus and promised The Baby Jesus the first ride in his wagon if he got one,so he took him for a ride. He gently lifts the statue out of the wagon and hands it to the priest who places it in the creche. The boy blesses himself and walks back down the aisle pulling the wagon. Gannon and Friday ask why the little boy got the gift before Christmas. The priest says that the fire dept. had fixed up old toys and given them to families, and that the little boys family was poor. The camera is slowing panning the Holy Family one at time and stops at Jesus and Gannon says, Poor?, Are they really?
