So, Monday morning, I will swallow down 10 pills of prednisone. And I will repeat it ever Monday until I am no longer under this debilitating haze of auto-immune disease symptoms. I have fought writing this last sentence for over 2 years. The concept has frightened me so much. But I have tried nearly every other possible infusion, diet, emulsion, tincture, and green leaf smoothie. Please, believe me...And, I have read all the side-effects associated with steroids. ...constant itching and neuralgia, giant skull, sudden and certain death preceded by night terrors and hissing boils the size of a soup tureen. But after stumbling around long enough, the hope of vitally staying in the arena, seems to mitigate the risks a little... And, think about it, Im going to be on the Juice. Lynch will be preaching on steroids! Im writing to the commissioner publicly, in front of all of you, just so its out in the open. Yes, Ill be preaching under a banned sustance. I know and you know, it will give me an unfair advantage. And I know the risks of suspension. But at my church weve got many excellent arms in the rotation. If Im out of the lineup for a few weeks, whos the worse for it? Ive suspected for some time now, that the preaching and writing luminaries are using. Andy Stanley sometimes speaks seven or eight times a weekend! Yes, the Holy Spirit is all-powerful and mighty. But eight times a weekend? I think the guy is on the the juice. Tim Keller writes a great book about every week and a half. You telling me hes not on something? I swear, his head size just looks different to me. And while I might have my issues with Frances Chan...hourly...the cat can speak articulately and passionately even while hes sleeping. So, here we go. John Lynch on steroids. More endurance, bigger gestures, faster page turning. Bigger, stronger, better range to the left and right of the pulpit...And this parenting book and online course weve been trying to produce, at Truefaced, for the last dozen years or so, it should now not take more than a week or two to bang out! ...Thanks everyone, for receiving my playfulness amidst something that is not funny and represents what many suffer much in greater measure, silently. It is still a wonderful, wonderful life. And you are not alone. There is this guy in Phoenix who cant carry your shield, but he knows who will. Our God reveals Himself in even more magnificence in our limitations than we ever imagined before it all hit us. Cover me...Im going in.
