So, Mr. President, The United States, along with five other world - TopicsExpress

So, Mr. President, The United States, along with five other world powers have signed a deal with Iran that we Jews, the majority of whom voted for you, are supposed to support? You might recall, that the head of the former Iranian regime publicly made these statements concerning Israel, our greatest friend and ally in the Middle East: Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nations fury. Remove Israel before it is too late and save yourself from the fury of regional nations. The skirmishes in the occupied land are part of a war of destiny. The outcome of hundreds of years of war will be defined in Palestinian land. As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map. If the West does not support Israel, this regime will be toppled. As it has lost its raison d tre, Israel will be annihilated. Israel is a tyrannical regime that will one day will be destroyed. Israel is a rotten, dried tree that will be annihilated in one storm. Let me ask you, Mr. President, has the current regime with whom you have struck this deal done ANY of the following: 1. Renounced or abnegated any of the previous regimes statements? 2. Asserted Israels right to exist as a nation within secure borders, with Jerusalem as her capital and that any solution involving the Palestinian people must clearly so assert? 3. Completely pulled support for and renounced the activities of all terrorist organizations by name such as Hamas and Hezbollah? 4. Released Saeed Abedini, an American citizen held captive in Iran for the simple crime of sharing his Christian faith, a clear violation of Geneva Convention agreements on the taking of hostages. Did I miss something here? No? So, youre not expecting Mr. Netanyahu to be very jubilant about this latest turn of events. We would all want a resolution of conflict in the Middle East. Nobody wants to deny Iran her right to do whats best to raise the quality of life for her citizens. However, is this the price we are willing to pay for the illusion of peace? Is this the message America wants to send to our friends, allies and citizens around the world? That our blessing can be bought and paid for by the blood of a nation whose only crime for 65 years has been to defend herself from neighbors who wish nothing more than to sweep her people into the sea? Ive heard no public renunciation of the aforementioned vitriol vented upon Israel, and until I do, I will consider this latest turn of events another in a series of slaps in the face to Israel and to the Jewish people, and will continue to marvel exactly how and why it is so many of my people continue to support you.
