So My Sister told me not to post this and honestly I was not sure how to handle it til I downloaded the pics. Today has been 1 year since my Dad passed. If you know me you know My DAD ate bullets and saved more lives than you can count. Today was a weird day, uncommonly warm, sunny and calm for an October Day. Me, My Sister and my Niece Alex went to visit him. When we first got there I was carrying Alex, as we walked up to Dads grave, Alex shuttered and shivered. I know he greeted her! From there we hung out, Alex picked all the flowers we brought and threw them all over and we laughed. We spread out the blanket and relaxed and talked about Mom and Dad and we all had a feeling of peace. There is something about the Sun on your Skin and a Love one with you, it makes it all better. The best part was I was never sad, didnt cry nor did my sister. We were at peace with my Dad and thousands of other soldiers surrounding him. For each loss is a new beginning, My niece met my dad 6 days before he died. My newest niece will never meet him. But we take peace in the fact, if you raise your children right, if you as a person do the right things and if generally care about your fellow man, good things will and always come to you.
