So Nintendo set themselves to be the oddball of E3. Theyre - TopicsExpress

So Nintendo set themselves to be the oddball of E3. Theyre so-called Digital Event was overall disappointing as a format. It didnt even take a whole hour. They couldve spent more time explaining their new Skylanders-ish figure system that theyre releasing alongside Smash Bros Wii U. They had a trailer to better explain that but they had their live-at-event crew roll that trailer AFTER the briefing. Looks like their plan is to spread out all their news throughout the day through their live-at-event feed on Youtube. Rather than watch the event Id recommend instead going to Nintendos Youtube channel and hand picking what trailers you want to see. https://youtube/user/Nintendo/videos The big reveal was a peek at the next proper Zelda game. Theyre aiming to create a true open world experience (without the vast emptiness like their previous attempts with Wind Waker and Skyward Sword). Think Zelda set in Skyrim. And their aiming for release next year in 2015. The other big announcement was a new IP called Splatoon. If youve been wanting a new Mario Sunshine this is the closest youre going to get. Its an 8 player competitive third person shooter where youre kids armed with paint guns and you can splatter the whole stage with your teams paint color. Stepping onto your paint color allows you to turn into a squid for faster movement and jumping abilities, whereas your enemys paint will slow you down. So its to the teams advantage to have as much of their paint splattered on the map at all times. More kid friendly shooters are always welcome. Showed off a more finalized version of the new Yoshi yarn game, now subtitled Woolly World. They revealed a new Kirby game using clay, looks like a 90s stop motion animation cartoon, that uses the touch screen on the gamepad for Wii U. Toads getting his own stand alone game of more of his expedition levels from Super Mario 3D World. Nintendos finally releasing a game that will let you create your own 2D Mario levels, and youll be able to swap between the original Mario Bros 8-bit style and the New Super Mario Bros U style. Reggie also quickly mentioned Mario Party 10, almost like an afterthought. But yeah, Mario Party 10. No info on that HD Pokemon game that was teased last year. (there was a short trailer for ORAS though. Roxannes new design looks great) Was about to rage over my predication that thered be no new entries from Nintendos sci-fi series. But then it was briefly teased at the end of the briefing, and then confirmed by news outlets that a new Star Fox game for Wii U is in the conceptual stages, with Miyamoto heading the project alongside some other Wii U projects hes working on. Alright Nintendo, you guys saved yourself there, BARELY. Release dates and other info on the upcoming fall releases. Smash Bros on 3DS, originally planned for summer release, has been pushed back to October 3rd. (Miis with 3 fighting styles and Paultena from Kid Icarus were confirmed as new characters though) Something I was concerned with the exclusive release of Bayonetta 2 was that Nintendo loyalists never played the first game. That concern was answered. Bayonetta 2 launches in October and will come packed with the first game as well. So youre getting 2 games for the price of one. As if that wasnt enough, Platinum also added additional content to the first game in the form of Nintendo cosplay outfits. Zelda and Midna from Twilight Princess are confirmed as playable characters in Hyrule Warriors and it comes out on September 26th. Well that was longer than I thought. But yeah, lots of news, bad format.
