So Obama is in India for the Republic Day celebrations. I can understand the excitement but I seriously doubt that its going to make any major difference in the way things are, but then thats just me. Indian TV news reportage seems to have hit an all time low, at least on the particular channel I was watching. They were all ecstatic about how their anchor asked Obama how he felt being here for Republic Day celebrations and he said, Im honoured to be here. Like he would have otherwise said that he didnt really want to be here and wished he wasnt wasting his time talking to her??? Then their expert panel got into how Obama visited Raj Ghat, signed the visitors book and planted a tree. When they got into discussing the botanical name of the tree he planted, I got up nd left the room. Now Im just not able to pick up the courage to see if the other news channels are any different and not spouting such drivel!
