So Roberta and I have been starting a few projects around the house. The room she decided to start in was our bedroom. We have outgrown the purple. I do not know what we were thinking, we are neither royal nor noble. Before we can paint there was some patching that needs to be done. The nicks in the wall from the time one of the foster had an apparent unwilling transformation into a weredog while in the crate. The dents and dings from the time Moose, while playing with Ranger, jumped through the bed and slammed the dresser across the room and into the wall. The worst patch is the holes from the feeds for the old electric wall heater that was so ungodly noisey Kurgan used to growl at it. I have done my share of this work. I even got pretty good at it after we had a leaking in the roof and had to nearly replace the kitchen ceiling. (Hey, state farm guy - just in case you are reading this - it cost me more to do this repair myself than you paid us to have it done professionally - just saying). I am not inexperienced at this is my point. I figured, considering two of the hole needed to be taped, it would take probably three coats of patch. ...by my fifth coat I was starting to doubt my hard won plaster patching skills. Every coat I put on did not seem to make a difference. I would coat it, and leave it to dry, and when I went back into the room I could still see the tape. I do not know what the hell is wrong with this patch we bought. I told Roberta. I have never seen patch that did not cover like this. It wont even fill the screw holes Of course Roberta gives me that look - you know that look - the maybe it is you but I will be try and be a polite wife look. Well for the last coat I decided I am just gonna slop it on there nice and thick. I am gonna just slop it on and get this damn tape to cover and if I have to I will just feather out from there to make it look right...so I did... ...and 5 minutes later Moonshine is quite excited that this time I used quite a lot of that yummy white peanut butter. Seriously dog. What is wrong with you.
