So Royal Mail lose an item, I claim for it, and then get a letter - TopicsExpress

So Royal Mail lose an item, I claim for it, and then get a letter saying they assumed it has been delivered, havent heard from the recipient so heres 6 first class stamps. Its not good enough for a £30 item. The postage was £4.00 alone!! So... have that Royal Mail On its way to you first class with PROOF OF POSTING Thank you for your letter with the above reference, received today. Unfortunately I am very disappointed with this outcome. I have spoken to your customer services who have given me your details. You say that because you did not get a reply from the form you sent to XXXXXXX that you have assumed it has been delivered. Your system states as if today 24/7/14 that KF********** GB is still progressing through your network. This obviously has not been delivered otherwise you would have a signature on file. The item is lost. You then state because the form was not filled in by XXXXXX that I am not entitled to the full price refund. I sent you the sales receipt and also proof of posting which was requested. What if C Gould did not receive your form? So therefore could not fill it in? Did you obtain proof of posting or was it sent via a tracked delivery method to prove this? If it was not sent without a proof of posting, we could assume this has been lost too? I find it very unfair that because a form which may (or may not) of been received by the recipient is the deciding factor on my refund. As far as I am concerned, my original claim stands as the item has not been received, and as stated on YOUR system, is still progressing through so I am entitled to a full refund for the lost item. Please find enclosed the 6 first class stamps you original sent me as compensation. This is not acceptable. I look forward to hearing from you.
