So Shane has had an interesting day! He went to the vet today for his pre surgical appt for his knee and found out that he might actually have the same congenital hip disorder that Sarges Surgery Story and Josie, our former fosters, do. He might need to have both of his hips fixed because they may be spontaneously luxating. So we will see what is recommended for that next. We also found out that Shane needs a new foster home because he needs someone used to big dogs who would like to take over if you allow it. The trainer wants us to find someone who has experience with big dogs who need a strong leader. He is a fabulous dog, and has learned so much in just 8 days with the trainer. He is really a dog who wants to please his people but no one until now ever showed him what that meant. He has had to learn that mouthing peoples hands or arms or legs is not acceptable, even if it doesnt hurt because he gets too excited otherwise and could hurt. He has learned so quickly what is ok and will come with training with his trainer for foster or adopter. And the trainer thinks Mastiff/Great Dane mix :D The ever changing breeds of the giant puppy.
