So, Sometimes things just seem unusual. This year it was praying mantises. This year I saw at least a dozen, shame I did not photograph them all, they are so cute. The first two photos show the male, mottled in color and only about 2.5 inches long. Im not sure, but I believe all of them were on the shady side of the house. The last two photos are the female. This was probably the largest one Id ever seen, well over 4.5 inches long and very shiny green. They must move quickly, because they are never where you first found them if you see them a second time at all. I keep thinking Ill bring one home to control the bugs (spiders mostly) at my house. But, the cat would eat the praying mantis. Still trying to teach the cat to eat the spiders...
