So TODAY has been naughty and breaking embargoes on stories - I wonder which four stories which shake the foundations of society required this censure/blacklisting from the G...Not sure its really the two that mumbrella referred to... In any case, I think some embargoes are silly - imposed solely for newsmakers to ensure they and they alone get full play because you cant talk to anyone else for comments. Not for any other reason at all. I think such embargoes should be resisted by the media. As for being banned from G briefings of announcements (I think thats what the mumbrella story is referring to) it might not be such a bad thing because some of these briefings are tantamount to gag orders of sort. Cannot attend briefing means cannot be blamed if story doesnt turn out right because you didnt get the background. Wonder if the G thought about this before becoming so trigger-happy. Also, seems to me that the Ministry of Communications and Information cant communicate information properly, according to the report below...
