So Thursday night, at 11:30 pm, I was involved in a 4 car accident - TopicsExpress

So Thursday night, at 11:30 pm, I was involved in a 4 car accident on the Pulaski Skyway on the way home from work. The left lane was merging into the right lane up ahead and I thought about being a d-bag and using the left lane to get a couple of cars ahead in the line. I decided against it since I was only going to go home to watch episodes of The Walking Dead - no rush. I pulled up behind the Jeep in front of me and stopped as several cars flew by in the left lane. Seconds later, I heard the screech of tires and said to myself, Oh sh!t. That was followed by the crunch of metal as I was being thrown forward and backward from the doubled impact. I was hit from behind and into the Jeep, which in turn hit the car in front of it. Air bag did not deploy. I was wearing my seat belt, but Im pretty sure I hit the steering wheel due to the pain in my left chest/ribs. Doesnt matter. Right leg hit the bottom of the dash and immediately swelled. Other bumps and bruises also, as well as neck and back pain. Went to the ER where x rays proved negative for broken bones. Insert shout out to my awesome wife here who drove 45 minutes to the hospital to be there with me and then drive me home (got home at 4:30 am). Things are still swollen, painful, and discolored. Is what it is. It will come to pass. I havent had a good look at the car, due to going right to the ambulance. The driver beat was down, prob from me slamming back into it. Im pretty sure the trunk is basically non existent at this point and the picture the EMT showed me looks as if the front is half the size of what it was. Everybody on scene told me the car was done. I get to see it tomorrow. I plan on taking pics. This is not a post for sympathy. Just asking for a favor... WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT It definitely helped me. Peace.
