So, Today Was A Good Day. (Thank you, Ice Cube :-)) It was a beautiful sunny Sunday. We hitched up our summer ride and went cruising. We mixed it up. We Worked Hard, Played Hard, and Rested Easy. For me, I have to have all of that in the mix in order to have the ideal day. I took lots of photos. (Decided to use my actual camera, and not my iPhone--as I have mentioned, I already blew up the memory there with all my photos.) Everything was interesting; everything was beautiful. One photo is right here. FroYo was in our mix today. This is my daughters FroYo spoon collection. Count them if you like--completely serendipitously, there are 12. (Go Hawks!). And of course, you will see the punch line in this photo immediately. BTW, if you ever need a gift idea for my daughter, a gift card to Yeti Yogurt would be greeted with ecstatic hugging. The rest of my photos are now on Flickr. Yes, I decided to splinter off from FB just a little bit--bowed to the pressure--so will now be posting most of my photo binges at this great--and free!--site that a friend told me about. Its easier for me that way anyway. I invite you to visit me there if you like. Here is a link to a photo set from today that I would especially invite you to visit--it is our virtual brunch with local artist Mary Magenta. https://flickr/photos/121234743@N02/sets/72157642825411155/ Mary is an amazing woman, who hails from Rainier Beach (at least in recent years) and devotes her time and energy to plumbing (her day job), maintaining Kubota Garden, creating art, and teaching others to do/enjoy art. If you havent been to this public Seattle Park yet, I invite you to go there at your next opportunity. It is an extremely beautiful spot (we held our wedding there) and the park has a very special story behind it. Last time I checked, Mary did not own a car. So she only does plumbing jobs that are within biking distance. A few years ago, Mary taught an amazing art class at Kubota Garden for kids and their grandparents. All volunteer--donation only. My daughter attended with her grandparents, and they brought home amazing works of art, and great stories. Oftentimes, they had Ms. Mary all to themselves, as other classmates hadnt shown. (Have I told you that we are the luckiest family in the world? Luck o the Irish, I tell you!) Mary Magenta is online at marymagenta, and her paintings are on display at The Sunlight Café in the Roosevelt neighborhood through the end of this month. I invite you to patronize Marys work, either her art or her plumbing...er...that didnt come out quite right, did it Mary? We couldnt resist--staked our claim on four pieces. They are a great deal, and truly priceless! In any event, please feel free to check out my Flickr photos, and Marys special works of art. Thanks Mary, you are a shining star!
