So. Today my oldest turned 19. Weve grown up together! I HAD him when I was 19, and now he *is* 19. Im so old. Anyway, Ive spent all day thinking.. what will I post about this?! What can I say that gets to the heart of everything in our lives right now? As I was driving him to the airport the other day I told him he was so cool because he doesnt put pressure on me to be anything but me. Its that first-born love with no boundaries thing. I mean, sure, weve had our issues and push each others buttons - that happens even more-so I think when you have a kid so young. Maybe hes just dysfunctional? Yup, thats probably it, lol But hes kind of like, This is my mom. She is what she is. We have laughs. I dodge her hugs and kisses. I love her though.. a lot. I wouldnt want her to change because.. well.. shes mom. And the same goes for him. Hes my Taylor, and of course I cheer him on for what he will be some day, but I love him deeply today just because hes MY TATERS. Theres nothing that hurts my soul more than having him gone 3,000 miles from me, yet nothing fills that hole like knowing I gave him wings, hes using them, and hes growing up out there in NY on his terms.
