So. Vista print sold me my web domain name or my whatever you - TopicsExpress

So. Vista print sold me my web domain name or my whatever you want to call it sept 25, 2013. It expired sept 25, 2014. I had a customer alert me my site was offline I wasnt aware. So after many calls I found out I had to go to my web sites domain manager and update my settings to point to my current web host. Same web host Ive had for a year. It took a while to do that because I didnt have the login info. I called vista print and they were clueless. So after more calls I finally emailed vista print and they sent me my login info. Fast forward last week late I get a email from google saying its bots couldnt crawl my site that it was offline. I started looking at my analytical data an noticed it had been offline since oct 25 exactly a month after I fixed it. Again I was so confused as to what was going on. I did what vista prints email told me and registered as domain owner with the ICANN group. They register who owns what domain. Non profit org. No where in the email did it say I must transfer my domain name to another host. I thought once I bought it from vista print that it was mine. Needless to say apparently my one year domain ownership from vista print expired sept 25 and thats why my settings got automatically changed by vista print. Still I got no emails from them period. I fixed it I thought according to what they told me to do in the email after sept 25 when I needed my login info and because I did not transfer and purchase my domain name from a new reselling company or web host after a 30 day grace period past the expiration date, I lost my name. Ok. I call vista print again this morning because up until this morning I had emailed or called many many places including vista print and no one knew what was up. Finally vista print told me what was wrong. And that because I went past the grace period it would be dec 11 before my name would be released and I could try to buy it again but not until then period. No way no how. Final answer. I had emailed Friday the domain name compliance org and finally got a email this morn late. They told me same as vista print except....for $199 this other company could reinstate my name today, now no waiting till dec 11. Long story short, I had to pay $199 versus about $20 on avg to get my name back but while talking to the lady who was helping reinstate my name she said I wouldnt believe how many people say exactly what I said about vista print not telling them any information or even informing them the domain was going to expire even though they controlled the domain and have customer email addresses. So Im wondering if I could possibly get my $199 back from vista print. Im kinda irritated they failed on their end to act responsibly. Anybody have any suggestions on how to even attempt to recoup my money?
