This book gave me new meaning for the word haunting. James Lee Burke Purple Cane Road This book taught me so much I had forgotten about traveling southern roads growing up. I truly fell in love with Dave Robicheaux and Louisiana in this book. Stephen King s Doctor Sleep has to be one of my favorite from the master of the pen, but truly none of his novels disappoint. J.K. Rowling Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has had a profound effect on me. Its thought and emotion provoking. This series is brilliantly written but its this fourth novel that is my favorite for many different reasons. George R. R. Martin s entire series of A Song of Fire and Ice Theres simply no way you can read just one. Like potato chips the first bite is as good as the last. Jim Carroll The Basketball Diaries I have witnessed the devastation of drug addiction. This novel is the best description by far. Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol Because the dept of human spirit in this great text gets me like no other. Dan Brown The Divinci Code Its a brilliant piece of work that covers everything from art, history, religion and absolute unstoppable suspense. Langdon rules! Charlaine Harris The Sookie Stackhouse Series BUT not because they were great, because they taught me what NOT to do with characters AND to stop while ahead. (complete character assassination) but they gave birth to the very entertaining HBO series True Blood J.R.R. Tolkien The Lord of the Rings YES i did read it. I loved it, even the songs!!
