So a few weeks ago on a beautiful Saturday afternoon I was listening to KSPC Claremont in my truck. I mean the weather was perfect, clouds in the sky, light breeze but warm. Perfect. Anyway KSPC is playing oldies rock, Big Bopper, Richie Valens and this track. Totally fit the mood beautifully. Smile on my face. Foot off the gas, just cruising. I click over to KUCR Riverside just to see what theyre doing and its some bullshit emo-ass experimental electro crap. Now I know college radio is all about expanding tastes, but theres a time and place.... I mean DID THE DJs EVEN GO OUTSIDE?!?!?? Come on bro? Know your venue! Like 90% of people listen to the radio in their car. No one wants to hear that shit in the middle of the day unless theyre in their basement organizing rat bones and huffing paint thinner. Anyway just thought Id share the importance of not only playing to the audience but playing to the environment as well. KUCR, we need to have a talk.
