So a little holiday update for everyone; as most know I have been in bed for the majority of the last 9 days, due to having my tonsils out. As Im sure you can all imagine, this has made working on any projects difficult, but not impossible! With the help of a few friends the 1942 Ford Script GPW fired, last night for the first time in over 36 years. As it turned out the timing of the motor was severely off, so now today that has ben adjusted, and hopefully tomorrow we will try to start the motor again. Also, a new year floor and a couple other new replacement body panels have arrived and are in storage for the time being until the body comes to the shop and the work begins on it. As the frame nears completion however, I will be posting some before and after pictures, so that everyone can see just what it takes to make one of these amazing and historic vehicles live again. Also, this third jeep has been christened Dot, in honor of the veteran for whom Im painting it in honor of. His wife (who was also his high school sweetheart and girlfriend while he fought in WWII) was named Dot. She passed a few months ago, so this is a nice way to remember her as well.
