So, a lot of what has been said about the movie Noah is correct. It is not at all conducive to the biblical account of the story. It indeed does have rock creatures that come to life and interact with Noah and even help him and his family build the ark. What was not told in the critiques of the movie, is that the rock creatures were actually angels sent down from heaven that take the form of these rock creatures while on Earth. Nothing in the Bible speaks of this, but it at least gives slightly more plausibility to the rock creatures in the movie. There are some other disturbing elements, such as Noah wanting to kill his adopted daughters newborn twin girls...thinking they will usher in a new world filled with sinful man that God would once again be displeased with. The ironic thing is that this is not to far off, since sin did not go away as the result of God destroying the world by flood. Man has, does and always will have the capacity to do bad things inherent inside them for now and all time. I would suggest if you are looking for a biblical re-enactment of the story of Noah and the flood...this movie is not for you. This is a purely concocted story using the biblical account as a reference and then extrapolating a whole other fictitious story of what really might have happened. It is not too unlike Last Temptation of Christ, in that regard. Two things that the movie does do...1) it takes a look into the heart of mankind and sees that all men have the capacity to do evil, bad things. 2) It correctly shows that mankind was given a second chance after the annihilation of the world...which shows God as a God of compassion even whilst showing his vengeance in destroying the world.
