So a restaurant tries to cancel me last minute a couple weeks ago, and I asserted some backbone (and legalese) to counter that they were contractually obligated to let me play and pay me based on an agreement reached months in advance and the opportunities to make income I passed on because this date was set aside for them. Apparently the help isnt supposed to complain, so I was subsequently informed I am no longer being booked at any of this companys restaurants. I wont name this restaurant publicly, but I will say that if you are a restaurant that books live music, and you dont see a problem with canceling shows on a whim, thus depriving a musician of the income he/she was depending on (because it is a job for some of us), then I really dont want to work with you anyway. Rant over.
