So a sports memorabilia dealer is pissed off that Todd Gurley sold - TopicsExpress

So a sports memorabilia dealer is pissed off that Todd Gurley sold his autographed items to lots of other dealers, thereby diluting the price of the angry dealers merchandise. This memorabilia dealer, who lives in Rome, Georgia, shopped the story of Gurley selling his autograph - contrary to NCAA rules - to several news outlets. UGA got wind of it and suspended Gurley indefinitely. Its much like the Manziel incident, except its happening in the middle of the season and the NCAA hasnt had a chance to investigate it and deliver a punishment. The fear is that if Gurley continues to play and is found to be in violation, Georgia would have to forfeit those victories. Oh, and the dealer is a Florida Gator fan, which is not to say he reflects Florida Gator fans in general, but it at least somewhat explains how a guy in Rome, Georgia could even think of sabotaging UGAs chance at a national championship. Either way, this is just another stain on the NCAA and its ridiculous exploitation of these guys. If all are telling the truth, Gurley broke the rules and has to be punished for it. Maybe miss a game or two - and make the decision right away or let him play pending the investigation. But its time to reconsider the rules here.
