So about 15 years ago wife said I needed new end tables for my den and we were going shopping for some nice ones. I just smiled.... This is what I came up with for some nice tables..... Lets pick some rotting logs, cut them like a loaf of bread, matchup sister pieces, mark each one, stack them for a few years, once dry arrange to form mirror patterns, trim for joining, glue up, set in inlays, sand, and sand, and sand, then start laying on the clear coats ( it took about a month to pore the topcoats just right). The support base is a stump ripped out of the ground with a chain and a tractor-that was fun! Power washed and left for a couple of years in the dry. The last 3 pics are tops waiting for some attention. Needless to say my wife is still talking about getting some nice tables, and Im still smiling.......
