So about 6 years ago, I took my beloved Dodge Ramcharger off the road for a much needed restoration. I spent more time and money tracking down parts that are harder to come by than an honest politician. I don,t know how many hours Ive spent cutting, grinding, and welding on her, only to find more rust lurking in places that rust shouldnt exist. About 2 years ago, I found a 100% mint donor body for my truck and its been sitting on a custom built frame in the driveway ever since. Time and money both being in short supply over the years, Ive neglected getting my project back on track. Until this weekend. With a multitude of saws, cutting wheels, torches and buckets of sweat, I got myself back into gear and got working on her again. I know that before you make something beautiful, you have to sometimes make it ugly. Right now, I got more ugly than I can handle. Even though Im cut up, burned up, bruised up, and a bit depressed to have to do it, the old body came off the truck today. As sad as I am to see so many hours of work wind up in the trailer in pieces, I know that better days are ahead...and at least I wont have to worry about rust anymore. Just hope I can finish this project before I die.
