So about two years ago I had an issue with the dermal anchor piercing bellow my belly button. The part that goes beneath the skin got lost inside of me while the visible jewel stayed in place. It was a crazy 1 in a billion chance, and it made no sense. I went to get it fixed, but after they poked around for the lost piece they concluded that it was no where to be found then they put an entire new dermal in and told me the lost piece should never become a problem. After several kicks to the stomach during Odins diaper changes that tiny evil piece of metal started to surface, and causing inflammation. I didnt know what to do. Today I got a little brave. I folded myself over so that my face was probably 8 inches from my belly button. I needed to get a closer look. Does that sound uncomfortable? Because it was! For 30-45 minutes I stayed like that and very very slowly pulled on the anchor. I just knew it was going to hurt like hell. Boy did I feel stupid when it finally came out with little to no pain. I should have just yanked it out quick and easy from the beginning instead of sweating bullets. Now it can finally heal... Success!
