So according to an article in Runners World Magazine soccer - TopicsExpress

So according to an article in Runners World Magazine soccer players run an average of 7 miles per game. A large field, a fast moving ball, and rare substitutions mean soccer players can expect to log some heavy mileage, midfielders tend to run the most, sometimes reaching nearly 9.5 miles. So, I played 5 games at 50 minutes each (our games are not regulation time) and played center mid (because I run) and subbed out a couple of times for a couple of minutes. I am going to guesstimate that combined I ran between 15 and 17 miles. Not bad for a weekend of soccer. Good thing #Ilovetorun I #burnedsomemajorcalories because I didnt run at a steady pace like when I run a marathon, it was more like a #HIIT workout since there were lots of sprint sequences and stop and go movement. #Soccer great sport, great #workout and I
