So, according to the great purveyor of wisdom Mark Drakeford in the BBCs Wales Report tonight, in this age or austerity with an ever shrinking cake (Wales Budget) there are only three options. 1. Cutting services (essentially what has happened here in Pembs). 2. Us paying for some services, (basically privatization, and moving even further toward the hopelessly inefficient USA model where the rich can afford Health services but the poor cannot). (Also something that the centralization we have seen happen here with services moving to Glangwili is geared around because it means that the centralized hospital is much more of an appealing option to private companies who are only motivated by profits and not our health or level of service. Or, 3. We all learn to take much more care of ourselves, stop smoking drinking, eating sugar etc (to be fair he did mention food industry regulation which would be a good idea on this topic). So which is it folks? Which one to YOU choose!!? Well heres a thought, We dont choose any of the above, we oppose and reject Austerity and Privatization which both neo-liberal governments in Cardiff and Westminster are forcing on us (even though they found £2.3 Trillion to bail out the bankers who gambled and caused the crash). Send a clear message to all politicians who are destroying our NHS here in Wales and in England that we demand the NHS is restored to the service that was created in the first place to benefit all, free at the point of entry paid for by all and free for all as a safety net against hard times and ill health. The Labour WAG should be reminded that they dont have to accept cuts and austerity and that they should stop excusing it. Its our NHS and it will be lost forever if we dont make this stand and identify the enemy, which is neo-liberal politics and governments both here AND in Westminster who decide our budget. (Sign the petition below/above against the WAG budget cuts)
