So, after all the upheaval and change and uncertainty this little guy had in his life, he started to act out. He became fearful of strangers and used his mouth. Instead of choosing to work with their dog to make things better, today they returned him. Funny... after how judgmental they were of the adopter who previously locked him in his crate to fix his nervousness around their dog. Well, our little Miller is coming back to Texas. They were offered advice and access to a behaviorist. Instead they worked with one who told them he can never be around strangers - ridiculous advice for such a young dog and not having tried anything else - consistently - over time. I am incredibly disappointed in the young couple who adopted him - especially since they are looking for a ready made dog - I hope they choose not to adopt another dog because NO dog comes perfect. Every dog requires work, training and support. I am sorry Miller that you became one of the statistics of people who dump their dogs back at the shelter when things dont go according to plan. I cant wait to kiss and hug your neck though! Miller will need a foster beginning April 23rd. He is going to be extremely shut-down - so I need someone who will give him patience and time and help me work with him.
