So after asking Ambassador Susan Rice about the US involvement in Gaza and her insights about the conflict I was not surprised by her answer. She essentially said Israel should defend itself. She said we can discuss whether the defense has been disproportionate or not. I said this was a conflict that we would inherit as future leaders and what were her thoughts on possible solutions and to be honest what it was even about anymore. The response was no foreseeable future solution and both sides keep stalling peace talks at different times. To be fair this conflict precedes her and nobody has come up with a workable solution that is likely to be accepted by everyone.
