So after being a grown up and cleaning the freezers because one was actually having a melt down, I was washing the kitchen floor and heard Tula barking in a very territorial way. Went outside to follow her around back to the Bear. Tula inside, I grab my camera and snap the first shot. Yes I was that close because the bear was in the tree (obviously I could run away if need be)! Then I stalked around the berries and laid down on the ground, to which the stressed bear had a few snorts and even a mildly aggressive stomp at me (I did jump a little). I really wanted a nice shot. So I continued to lay there, listen to the wind, watch the sun move in and out, practice my invisibility skills, eat a raspberry....basically enjoying laying down. Said bear did relax and go about its business. Decided to come inside and watched as the little sneaky bugger grabbed a brand new 50 pound bag of black oil seed and romped it down the tree line like it was nothing. I guess she had the last laugh but it was well worth the sweet moments. Guess Ill move the birdseed cans until she heads into hibernation.
