So after close to 2 decades of running live sound and hearing horror stories from musicians about how awful many sound engineers are, I think my slow ass brain might have finally hit on why. Because many musicians have no real idea how vital a good sound engineer is to how good they actually sound onstage, and totally disregard their services. I have heard it from some local musicians, some of whom I dont particularly admire, but just recently from a national touring musician that I previously had a great deal of respect for. Terribly sad that some very talented musicians have no couth or even empathy for people who run FOH, some of whom take making you pompous asses sound halfway decent, seriously.
