So after having a wonderful church service this morning Dave Matteson and I were driving home so I could get ready for work. We were listening to our Lazarus cd and having a great time (and got a good blessing!!) As we got close to home I laid my hand on his knee and asked him if he was still mamas boy and he said of course and then he covered my hand with his and held my hand. For those of you who know Dave you know how awesome this was for me because he doesnt show physical emotions much due to his autism. Then he slipped his other hand underneath my hand and held my hand in both of his for the rest of the way home. I was so totally overjoyed by this show of emotion! My heart swelled with love and my eyes filled with tears. I love this boy to pieces but Im lucky to get a quick hug and peck on the cheek to say goodnight. That 7 minutes that he held my hand will last in my heart a lifetime. Thank you God for all Your many blessings and this was a tremendous one!
