So, after our JAS training session on skinnies and angles on - TopicsExpress

So, after our JAS training session on skinnies and angles on Friday evening, I took Monty down to Merrist Wood on Saturday for their unaffiliated indoor SJ/XC to do the 1m class. Ended up being a bit of a rush as they were running early (!) so didnt get to walk the course - not ideal when there were 16 fences to remember! I had time to watch 4 people go which wasnt really enough for my poor memory! There were 5 SJs then 11 XC jumps, some knock down and some roll-tops etc finishing with a very sharp right hand turn that could really have done with walking. Had a short warm-up and included practising some angles. Got a wake up call when I aimed him at the vertical with an opening to the left right next to the gate. I really do need to remember he has a bit of a nappy streak! Little reminder on the bum and jumped it again fine. In the arena he was awesome. I got a bit lost after fence 6 and ended up doing a handbrake turn to fence 7 but otherwise it all felt smooth and actually pretty speedy for us given I wasnt really pushing him for time. Was gobsmacked when they announced we went into the lead and there we stayed! Our first ever win at anything involving any kind of SJs! Very pleased with the boy. youtu.be/atQ3ghH33Jk
