So after the biopsy/asperration on the bacterial mass in my right - TopicsExpress

So after the biopsy/asperration on the bacterial mass in my right abdomen, & 10 days of antibiotics, I felt well enough to travel to Utah to visit my mom & family. Mom was hosting a Nibley cousins reunion on 9/6, and Im so glad that I made it. Had a wonderful time until Weds evening, when I became quite ill. 103 temp, bad nausea & bad pain in my right side. Thanks Jeff and Caleb for the blessing. I know it helped us. Told Dr @ UVRMC/Provo that I needed a CT to verify that my mass had grown back. It had come back even bigger. BTW, read the book, My Name Used To Be Muhammed while in the ER. Its a very interesting and worthwhile read. So after 7.5 hours at ER, & iv antibiotics & pills to take, we headed back to moms at 4am. Not much traffic. Slept a few hours then headed home, with a stay over in Reno. This Tues I met with surgeon who, when he read the CT report which I had faxed down to him prior to the appointment, sent me immediately across the street to the hospital surgery center where they once again tried to asperrate the mass, but this time, they installed a drain, sticking right out of my side, with a collection tube about 14 long and a bag on the end that collects all of the drainage. Ill spare you the photo. Spent Tues & Weds at hospital, the past 2 days at home. Hope it works. Id hate to think that I had to go through this only to end up requiring surgery anyway. I have had some good and funny experiences. Just one: As you know Ive done a lot of time at Twin Cities Hospital over the past years. A CNA, Tiffany, and her nurse Tatiana, have been my caregivers on many occassions, the last being a year ago with my 5 day stay from the staph/cellulitis infection. So, Im resting on my left (non-tubed) side with my back & backside to the room door. Tiffany walks in and says, I thought I remembered the name, but now I recognize you! and we just started busting up. So many former nurses came by to say hello and wish me luck. There you go. Life goes on...ish.
