So after work today, I drove up to get my boat out of storage, I keep it up at Texoma as I fish there more than Lewisville Lake, but this weekend, I had promised my nephews and great nephews I would bring it back home to do some jug line fishing. When I went to hook up my boat, I forgot I had changed the ball hitch a while back and I barely got it to hook up. Good deal. Then I tried to hook up my security chains, too short as the hitch I put on was extended. Then I tried to hook up my lights, too short, GREAT!! Now I am going to drive this boat back home 90 miles without lights. Then I noticed, my license plate is missing, oh yeah, real good deal. Like I need a ticket. So I go to check my tires and it is critical that your tire pressure is correct, checked out OK. As I was doing this, a guy on a motorcycle came up to me and asked if I could spare some change, he had gotten lost, said he was trying to get back to Oklahoma City, was almost out of gas and that he was trying to get home as his dad was in bad shape and dying. Now I really dont know if he was telling the truth, but then he also asked, could I use your phone, my battery is dead on mine, he called someone to make sure and get a hold of his family and to let them know he was trying to get back home. I looked in my billfold and only had 2 twenties, so I just gave him one of them, told him to gas his bike up and get a bite to eat so he could get home. He thanked me multiple times. My day was nothing but one of those that nothing went right at work, my patience level was at a real low by the time I had realized all the things that I had wrong with my trailer, but I felt much better knowing that maybe I helped someone who really did need it. I followed him on Hwy 70 westbound to Mead OK where he went north and I went west. I got home safely and now will work on getting things back in good shape. I hope that fellow gets home to his family and can see his dad soon. :)
