So, after work today I went to Boscovs to look for some Spring clothes. I had found what I wanted and then saw this little old lady standing with this gentleman (he was her son). She was telling him that she couldnt find anyone to help her find any sizes. Then she looked over at me. (I guess I have that look). She ask if I could help her find some tops in some pretty spring colors. So I spent the next 45 minutes helping her shop. Her son sat over at the shoe section while we spent time picking out pretty colors and fabrics. He never took his eyes off her once. She wanted sleeves to her elbows to hide the flab under her arms. We talked while we shopped and she told me her name was Helene (not Helen). She spoke with a German accent. And then she told me she was 91 years old. I held my breath. She was so beautiful, with the softest skin and clearest eyes. She said she was going on a trip to Texas to visit her daughter and husband. After we finished she held my hand and ask my name. Then she hugged me. She only came up to my shoulders. How wonderful it makes you feel to pay a little attention to someone in need. I came away with a smile on my face and satisfaction in my heart. Kindness is so easy. I wish you 91 years more Miss Helene.
